Passion Week: Crucifixion

Jesus is taken to Caiaphas. Peter follows and denies Jesus three times.

Jesus is led to the high priest. Peter denies Him three times before the rooster crows.

Jesus is brought to the high priest’s house. Peter denies Him three times.

Jesus is taken first to Annas, then Caiaphas. Peter denies Him three times.

When morning comes the chief priests and elders take counsel against Jesus to put Him to death.

As soon as morning comes the chief priests bind Jesus and deliver Him to Pilate.

The assembly of elders leads Jesus to their council and asks if He is the Christ.

They lead Jesus from Caiaphas to the governor’s headquarters.

Jesus is delivered to Pilate. Pilate questions Him about being King of the Jews.

Jesus is led to Golgotha and crucified between two robbers. He is mocked.

Darkness covers the land. Jesus cries out and dies. The curtain of the temple is torn.

Darkness falls. Jesus cries out with a loud voice and breathes His last. The centurion confesses.

Darkness comes over the whole land. Jesus commits His spirit to the Father and dies.

Jesus says “I thirst” and “It is finished.” He bows His head and gives up His spirit. His side is pierced.

Joseph of Arimathea asks for Jesus’ body and lays it in his own new tomb. Mary Magdalene and the other Mary watch.
